2.1 Who we are

Seedlings is made by Seedling Studio, a one-person business in Finland. Contact details are in the Trader information above. "We" means Seedling Studio. "You" means the person using Seedlings.

2.2 What Seedlings is

You grow a character by tending it once a day. Each day you tend it, a new chapter of its story opens. A full cycle is 182 days.

AI is used in Seedlings. The story chapters are written with the help of AI and reviewed by us. The character artwork is AI-generated. If your card includes chat, the character's replies are generated by AI in real time.

2.3 Your account

You sign in with your email address. We send you a one-time sign-in link. There is no password.
One free trial per person. Don't create extra accounts to get more free content.
You must be at least 13 to use Seedlings. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to make a purchase.
Keep your sign-in links to yourself. Anyone with an active link can open your card.

2.4 The free trial

Free, no payment details needed.
One character, chapters 1–33.
You can keep tending after chapter 33, but new chapters stay locked until you buy the full story.

2.5 Buying the full story

Price: 9.90 € one-time. No subscription, no automatic renewal.
What you get for that character: chapters 34–182, chat with the character, your DEW counter, and, once minting opens, the option to mint the character as an NFT.
You pay by card or another method offered at checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Access opens immediately after payment.

2.6 Right of withdrawal

Under Finnish consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase.

Because the chapters are digital content delivered immediately, your right of withdrawal ends when access begins, but only if you have agreed to this before paying. You do this by ticking a box at checkout. We confirm your agreement in the confirmation email.

This does not affect your rights if the content is faulty or doesn't work as described. Contact us and we will fix it or refund you.

2.7 DEW

DEW are points. You get one for each day you tend. Your character can also find DEW while digging, and you can earn DEW for new personal records in the ride game.

Giving DEW to your character doesn't use it up. Your DEW total never goes down, except if we remove DEW that was earned by breaking the rules in 2.9.
DEW has no monetary value.
DEW cannot be bought, sold, transferred, or exchanged for money, crypto, or anything else of value.
We make no promise about what DEW will be used for in the future.

2.8 NFTs

Minting is not open yet. Before it opens, we will add the full rules for NFTs to this section and email everyone who has bought the full story.

2.9 Fair play

No bots, scripts, or automation for tending, the ride game, or the leaderboard.
No exploiting bugs. If you find one, tell us.
No harassment of other players or abuse of the chat.

We may remove leaderboard results, remove DEW earned this way, or restrict an account that breaks these rules. For a paid card we will first tell you what happened and give you a chance to respond.

2.10 Forget me

You can press "Forget me" on your card at any time. What happens depends on the card:

Digital card: your email address and chat are removed, and the card is permanently closed. Days, chapters, and any purchase on that card can't be restored.
Physical card: your email address, chat history, Discord link, wallet address, and location are removed. The card itself keeps working: its days and its character stay on the card, and it can be passed on to someone else. Your Discord roles for that card are removed.

This can't be undone. Read section 3 for what happens to your data.

2.11 Changes and availability

Seedlings is under active development, and features may change. We won't remove anything you have paid for from an active card without offering a fair solution or a refund.
The service may sometimes be down for maintenance or because of technical problems.
If we ever shut Seedlings down, we will email paying users at least 60 days in advance. NFTs that have already been minted stay on Hedera.
If we change these terms in a way that affects paid users, we will email you before the change takes effect.

2.12 Liability

We run Seedlings carefully. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit or lost data. This does not limit your statutory consumer rights.

2.13 Complaints and disputes

Contact us first: help@seedlings.world. We aim to answer within 7 days.
If we can't agree, a consumer in Finland can get help from Consumer Advisory Services (kuluttajaneuvonta, kkv.fi) and take the case to the Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta, kuluttajariita.fi).
Consumers in other EU countries can contact the European Consumer Centre in their own country.

These terms are governed by Finnish law. A consumer may always bring a case in the court of their own home municipality.
